Nicole celebrated her sweet 16th birthday with a summer sunset themed slumber party. She invited a small group of close friends and decorated a room at home with party decor coloured in shades of pink, orange and yellow with a touch of blue.
Summer Slumber Party Invitations
Invitations should be prepared and delivered a couple of weeks in advance of your party. The Summer Slumber birthday invitation was designed especially for Nicole’s party. Invitations and Gift Bag Tags were printed in colour at Officeworks on Ice White Card stock, then trimmed using a paper cutter. Cards were attached to the gift bags and tissue paper was placed inside to make them look luxurious.
The Party Room
Prepare a cosy party room for your guests to store their belongings and relax. For Nicole, an upstairs loungeroom was converted into a soft inviting space where the girls to hang, eat, play games, sing and watch movies late into the night.
Key party decor included a stunning party coffee table where the girls could share afternoon tea. The table was decorated with a soft cheesecloth table runner, gold leaf party lights and crepe ribbon, vases with orange and blue flowers, flower themed party plates, and napkins tied with beautiful coloured ribbons. Soft furnishings such as cushions, pillows, blankets and teddies were positioned around the room. Balloons and fairy lights were also hung around the room.
Guest Gift Bags
Make your guests feel special. Upon arrival the girls were given a gift bag which included items they could use during the night, for example, nail polish and a satin pillow case. Other items in the bag included exfoliating scrub, body glitter, a note pad and pen, a key ring and chocolate.
Afternoon Tea and Dinner
You can go simple or all out with afternoon tea creating gorgeous, sophisticated and delicious items be it home made or shop bought. For Nicole, we created sweet and savoury platters of gluten free food (important for Nicole) that her guests could graze on as they pleased.
In the evening the girls ate pizza by an open fire and toasted marshmellows.
Party Activities
After dinner, the girls retired back to the party room and painted their nails, played cards, sang karaoke and watched movies with popcorn as they fell asleep. (Extra matresses were brought into the party room as the evening progressed.)

Party decor for Nicole’s Sweet 16 was purchased at local variety and dollar stores, and some items were sourced from online vendors. Nicole had a wonderful time.
