Make your own flower decorations from plastic bin bags!
Can you believe it! And they look fantastic too. Follow the instructions below and make as many flowers as you like in whatever colour bin bag you find…
1. Gather the three things you will need to make the pom poms
- plastic bin liners in the colour or colours of your choice,
- some fishing line,
- and a pair of scissors
2. Roll out your bin bags and cut off the tops and the bottoms.
3. And then cut them in half.
Note: Depending on the brand, bag shapes may vary slightly. It may be easier to complete step 3 above after step 4 below.
4. Cut one side of the bag to make one long flat piece of plastic.
5. Cut in half again.
6. Lay 10 pieces of plastic evenly on top of each other.
7. Fold like a fan.
8. Tie in the middle with fishing line.
9. Curve each end with your scissors.
10. Fluff out your flower.
And it’s finished!
Make many, put them on your party table or hang them, and add fairy lights as you please.
